Hello from Patrick & Carol Mather-Pike in Port Elizabeth, sunny South Africa. We love travelling and especially camping. For many years we had camper vans and we loved the freedom of being able to head out whenever, and wherever, we wanted. Then, due to time commitments and business pressures, we sold our van – and we’ve never stopped wanting another.
Recently, we decided that it was time to buy one again. What a shock! – the prices had escalated beyond belief. We ended up buying a tent and went camping with my brother and his wife, who own a Sherpa Tiny – a small fibreglass caravan . Well, it was an experience! At one campsite the wind was blowing so hard that we couldn’t erect the tent – we nearly blew away trying. Another day the tent nearly took off – only my brother’s intervention saved us! The result – no more tents!! AND my brother convinced us to buy a Tiny.
I flew up to Joburg, chose one at the factory and a month later it was delivered to us.

The first thing we did was set it up in our back garden so Carol could see it. We couldn’t wait to get on the road.
We christened her Wagtail, because they are such cheerful little birds – one of our favourites. We could imagine her wagging along behind us!
